Pandas!! |
I have often been equated to a panda. Lazy, adorable, eats all day, relatively tame but with sharp teeth.
The US is lucky this year in that two new baby pandas were born in zoos. One in DC and the other at the San Diego Zoo. Su Lin "a little bit of something cute" is in SD, and Tai Shan, a male cub in DC. The photo is of Tai.
When I was little, I loved pandas. I had a WWF (not wrestling) video about pandas in China, and I would watch it all the time.
A member of the raccoon family (kind of-- DNA testing shows that they are closer to bears, while their cousins, the red panda, are closer to raccoons), these 'cat-bears' (in chinese) eat mostly bamboo, but like any good raccoon, will rifle through your garbage as well and eat your flowers and small rodents that they happen to catch.
you can watch them live on panda cams! San Diego Zoo and the National Zoo in DC |
